Tropical Interior Inspiration

Found this room on Decor Pad and just had to share it. This room reminds me of rooms I've seen many times here in Hawaii and it always feels right. If you're in the tropics it only seems right to be surrounded by perfectly tropical decor. Not "themed" tropical decor (embroidered palm trees on your towels, a monkey soap dispenser) but beautifully constructed furniture made using tropical materials such as bamboo, teak, mahogany, etc. and light and airy fabrics such as beautiful cotton linens. This room reflects this tropical dream without being cliche!

VS Cover-Up

So sorry, I know it's been forever, but I'm going to try my best to keep up with this blog too. With all the fall fashion and fall decor floating around blog world lately (and goodness know I'm guilty of getting caught-up in a change of season that I don't even see or feel) it's been hard to remain in a tropical state of mind.

Fortunately, today I found this awesome shirt in my Victoria's Secret catalog, which is totally impractical seeing that it's a sweater (I blogged all about it on One Girls Style), but it caused me to look at the VS online site where I stumbled upon this little treasure.

It's striped, it's linen, it's everything tropical and fab that one could ask for in a cover-up!

Enjoy!

Bringing the Look and Feel Home

Even if you don't live in the tropics you can still incorporate the look and feel into your home. Here are a few "beach inspired" rooms I found.

Etsy Find

Some pieces of tropical art I found on Etsy:

Tropical Red Cottage Original Watercolor Painting from Kauai Hawaii - A charming original watercolor for only $35! Great way to add a little tropical charm to your space.

Funky Beach Word Block- This cute piece would look adorable in my sons surfer boy bedroom!

Home is Anywhere-"Vintage Airstream trailer, parked in downtown San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, next to a stall where the family sold brightly colored dresses and shawls"- My favorite art is photography and I think this photo (subject matter) is really cool!

The Two Pinkies- Remember...I'm from Florida...enough said!

Suit-Up

Suit-Up...that phrase just sent shivers down my spine and made me a bit nauseous! However, if you or I plan to live this tropical lifestyle or take that tropical vacation and a beach is in our futures then suiting-up is a reality (for me a sad reality, but still reality non-the-less!) To take the sting out a bit I thought posting some beautiful swimwear options might help...or perhaps not...but, nevertheless, here are some I'm crushing on.

DKNY Swimsuit, Triangle Bikini Top & String Bottom- I've been wanting a yellow bikini for a while now. I think the yellow looks beautiful against the turquoise blue water when photographed!

J.Crew 'Neon Rose'- Another great color is this beautiful coral...one of my favorite swimsuit colors!

J.Crew 'Cape-Stripe'- Retro, nautical and stripped...makes me happy!

Kenneth Cole REACTION Cover Up, Tunic - SALE Swimwear - Women's - Macy's- I can just picture myself wearing this (with the necklace too) and strolling down a tropical beach...this weekend perhaps!

Lucy patio dress- Slipping this cover-up on over this suit is nothing short of perfection! Mojitos at a thatched beach bar anyone?!?

I'm hauling-out my Wii Fit and ab video A.S.A.P!!! So not kidding!!!

Bora Bora

My husband and I never went on a honeymoon! But, if we would have had the opportunity, I think Bora Bora would be the perfect honeymoon destination. So beautiful, so tropical, so romantic. Maybe this will be our 20 year, renew our wedding vows honeymoon do-over! PERFECT!

Hi, I'm Amanda Lenore and I'm from Southwest Florida and currently reside in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is my second blog. My first blog is One Girls Style, a fashion, design and lifestyle blog. I created this blog Key Limes and Coral because I thought it would be fun to have a blog with a more specific point of view. I look forward to posting many beautiful tropical inspirations for all of us to enjoy. Mahalo for following!
